Calo Rios studied graphic design at SVA with design legends Milton Glaser, Richard Wilde, Woody Pirtle and master type designer Ed Benguiat. During that same period, he worked at Howard Temner Design creating toy packaging for Marvel action figures under the ToyBiz brand.
Calo was recruited by GT Interactive Software as it's first director of creative services. During his tenure, GT Interactive published AAA titles such as the Doom franchise, Hexen, Quake, Mortal Kombat and Duke Nukem 3D. After GT Interactive, Calo founded Marching Ants USA.
His client list includes some of the biggest names in the video game industry - 2K, Take-Two Interactive, Activision, Disney Interactive, id Software, Midway Games, NewKidCo, 3D Realms, Ubisoft, Vivendi Universal and Tilting Point.
On the PD side, Calo worked on branded iPhone and iPad cases and accessories based on Marvel, Lucasfilm ltd., Disney and Universal licenses.
